How to qualify for RECREATION, nwba and iwbf
This team will undergo its first season in the Varsity Division (8-18 years old) and its second season in Division 2 in the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. It is always a privilege to be able to compete in the NWBA. This has its rewards for our players that move up from the developmental program because they go through so much training and to be able to travel nationally to compete against other players with similar disabilities is a unique experience in itself. Each player is given a classification (1.0-4.5) and you are only allowed to use so many points on the court at a time. This creates a level playing field for every team and emphasizes lower and higher classes of disability. Our team is composed of all the classification and its going to be a great season with the end goals of qualifying for nationals and bringing home a national title!
New players interested in joining/practicing are to take these steps
- Contact Us to make us aware of your interest.
- There will be a sit down at practice to discuss what you want to achieve, what your expectations are and where you fit within the teams.
- We will assess your abilities on the court and identify your strengths and weaknesses, and how we can help.
- We will then determine if you can fully participate in practices or if limitations need to be placed on what drills, conditioning, and scrimmages you can safely participate in.
